Basic Copper Carbonate, also known as copper carbonate, is malachite green in color and is a fine amorphous powder with a density of 3.85. It is insoluble in cold water and alcohol, soluble in acid and forms corresponding copper salt, and soluble in aqueous solution of cyanide, sodium hydroxide, ammonium salt and carbonate of alkali metal to form copper complex. When boiling in alkali metal carbonate solution, brown copper oxide is generated and decomposed into black copper oxide at 200℃. Unstable in hydrogen sulfide atmosphere. There are more than ten kinds of compounds in basic copper carbonate according to the ratio of CuO:CO2:H2O. In industrial production, its molecular formula is CuCO C (OH) 2 XH2O. The solubility in water is 0.0008%, and its decomposition temperature is 200-220℃. Low toxicity.
This product is used in inorganic salt industry to prepare various copper compounds, in organic industry as organic synthesis catalyst, in electroplating copper-tin alloy industry as copper ion additive, also used in pyrotechnic manufacture, paint pigment, insecticide and antidote for phosphorus toxicity, seed bactericide and additive for copper in feed, desulfurizer for crude oil storage, etc. In recent years, it has been widely used in wood preservation and other fields. It was also named as a green environmental protection product by Jiangsu Environmental Protection Department.
