Plano, TX, April, 2016 - Abdominal Surgery Specialists is pleased to announce that Drs. Nick Nicholson and Thomas Roshek have been named to D Magazine’s Best Doctors in Collin County list for 2016. The annual roundup of medical professionals is compiled from results of a peer-review voting process.

The 2016 Best Doctors in Collin County list was compiled following a peer-review mailer that was sent out to nearly 9,000 local doctors. Those doctors were then asked a single, but very telling question: “Which Dallas doctors would you trust with the care of a loved one?” When all was said and done, 1,510 doctors accrued votes. D Magazine vetted voters’ medical licenses and a panel of physicians tallied the votes to determine the winners.

“To gain such a high level of trust not only from patients, but other medical professionals in the region is a true honor,” says Dr. Roshek. “At Abdominal Surgery Specialists, we are simply committed to providing the best possible outcomes for each our patients.”

Dr. Nicholson is considered one of the country’s top minimally invasive abdominal surgeons. He’s been performing laparoscopic abdominal surgery for more than 15 years, helping over 12,000 people in the process. Currently working on his third book, Dr. Nicholson is internationally recognized as an industry expert and has instructed surgeons across the country in the use of minimally invasive abdominal procedures. He’s been named to D Magazine’s Best Doctors in Dallas list nine years in a row and its Collin County list for several years running, among other honors.

Dr. Roshek is a board certified general surgeon who is fellowship trained in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgical procedures. He was recognized with the 2009 Resident Achievement Award from the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the Tufts University School of Medicine Excellence in Teaching Award, and has been named to D Magazine’s best Doctors list on several other occasions.
