Plano, TX, April, 2016 – The Nicholson Clinic is pleased to announce that two of its physicians have been named to D Magazine’s Best Doctors in Collin County list for 2016. The annual listing of medical professionals throughout Collin County is the result of an extensive peer-review voting process.

Drs. Nick Nicholson and Thomas Roshek both made D Magazine’s 2016 listing. The honor is one that both men have achieved in the past, and it’s one that’s quite dear to them because of the nature of the selection process.

The 2016 Best Doctors in Collin County list was created through a multi-step process that began with a peer-review mailer that was sent to nearly 9,000 local doctors. The mailer asked a single, but important question: “Which Dallas doctors would you trust with the care of a loved one?” When the results came back, 1,510 doctors accrued votes from their peers. D Magazine then vetted voters’ medical licenses and a panel of physicians tallied the votes to determine the winners.

Considered one of the country’s leading minimally invasive abdominal surgeons, Dr. Nicholson has been performing laparoscopic abdominal surgery for more than 15 years. In the process of writing his third book, Dr. Nicholson is internationally recognized in the field and has had the honor of teaching other physicians across the country in the use of minimally invasive abdominal procedures. Nicholson has been named to D Magazine’s Best Doctors in Dallas list nine years in a row and its Collin County list for several years running, as well.

A board certified general surgeon who is fellowship trained in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgical procedures, Dr. Roshek was recognized with the 2009 Resident Achievement Award from the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the Tufts University School of Medicine Excellence in Teaching Award, and has been named to D Magazine’s best Doctors list several times.
