This year, the team from the leading legal firm who took part and did their bit for charity in the 2022 Winter Walk was 11 people strong. The event took place at the end of January and the participants had to complete the half-marathon length of the event that followed a circular route, starting and finishing at the Kia Oval.

“It was simply amazing to be part of this wonderful event. This year’s event is another success story that the experienced folks at Action Challenge delivered and the purpose of the entire marathon was to raise money for Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich Mind (BLG Mind). BLG Mind takes care of the mental well-being of those who are part of the local community. Mental health awareness is a matter of growing concern as the stress of modern-day living is putting a heavy burden on the mental state of the average working-class person.

Another challenge that the current generation is facing is the impact that Covid-19 had and, in many ways, still, have on the mental wellbeing of many across the globe. The many different uncertainties and insecurities that the global pandemic brought about simply started to show in a range of increasing mental health concerns.
“Being part of the walk didn’t only allow our team with an opportunity to challenge themselves on a different platform than those they face daily in the legal world, but it also allowed us to contribute in a different way than what our team is used to. Furthermore, it was a fun event that brought us all closer together. It was good for office morale,” Crudgington concludes.
