Beating some very stiff competition from the likes of Soundcloud and Groooveshark, Wavestreaming has been announced as the winner of this year's Streaming Media Readers Choice Award.

Taking home the top spot for Best Music & Audio Streaming service, Wavestreaming joins a host of well established previous winners such as Deezer to be crowned the number 1 readers choice.

With 330 nominations and 12,000 votes cast, Streaming Media’s annual event continues to be a barometer of the best services and products out there.

“We’re completely blow away, we really weren’t expecting it. But it has been a very big year for us. Our subscriber base has almost doubled in the last year alone and it shows no signs of stopping. We've had to double our workforce just to keep up with demand,” says James Mulvany, Founder and CEO of Wavestreaming.

What's next for Wavestreaming? According to Mr Mulvany innovation is the key. “We’re going to keep driving things forward. We have lots of exciting new features and products coming out over the next year, like our new Android App builder, that we know are going to blow people away.”
