«Von aussen sehen die Kopien zwar gleich aus, im Inneren ist jedoch billige Elektronik verbaut, bei der die Sicherheitselemente fehlen», erklärt der Elektroingenieur Marc Heusser. «Wenn nun ein Defekt auftritt, können 220 Volt am Ladekabel anstehen – und das kann tödlich sein», so Heusser.Dass gefälschte Ladegeräte gefährlich sein können, zeigte auch ein ausführlicher Test der Konsumentenschutzorganisation Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) aus Grossbritannien. Bei der Analyse von 2016 waren insgesamt 400 Ladegeräte aus Fernost getestet worden. 397 fielen bereits bei den grundlegendsten Sicherheitstestes durch.

Magnetfelder, die durch die Frequenz des Wechselstroms entstehen, können leitende Bauteile in dem Ladegerät in Schwingung versetzen. So entstehen die unerwünschten Geräusche.

In vielen Fällen hilft laut Diekmann ein simpler Trick gegen die nervigen Töne: Stecker ziehen und umgedreht wieder in die Steckdose hineinstecken. Wenn dieses Umpolen nichts bringt, bleibt im Zweifel nur der Gang zum Fachmann, wenn man die Geräusche gar nicht ertragen kann.Vorsicht bei Hitze und Geruch
„Selbst aufschrauben sollte man das Ladegerät auf keinen Fall“, betont Diekmann. Auch keine gute Idee: das Gerät einzuwickeln, um den Schall zu dämpfen. „Das führt nur zu Hitzestau und macht es kaputt.“Prinzipiell gilt: Wenn das Ladegerät Töne von sich gibt, ist das per se nicht schlimm. Es darf auch handwarm sein, ergänzt Diekmann. Wird es aber heiß und fängt an, unangenehm zu riechen, sollte man den Stecker ziehen und es nicht mehr benutzen.
