When Serge Benhayon first started his healing business, Universal Medicine, he did not expect a community of people spanning the globe would come to call themselves 'Students of Universal Medicine'. "I never set out to have a student body, but the healing courses we offered grew word of mouth and now we have people around the world who have come to regard Universal Medicine as a way of living, which at its essence it is."

But what is Universal Medicine?

"In its broadest sense Universal Medicine describes a medicine that is universal – the livingness of love,” Serge Benhayon explains. “The practical expression of love in everyday life is good medicine… it is very good medicine. This doesn't preclude conventional treatment for physical ailments but it broadens the scope of what health and vitality can be – not solely as function but as the expression of love in action." This, says Serge Benhayon, is first cultivated with self-love and self-care – two subjects he has been speaking on since 1999.

“Love has to be lived on a practical everyday level for it to be more than a grand ideal or a false hope.”

“That is why so many people feel the point of difference being offered by Universal Medicine. They realise it is not a quick fix but a presentation of a series of self-loving choices they can make to reignite themselves if they choose to.”

But what does ‘the Livingness of Love’ look like practically?

“It looks like the many hundreds of people who have started to feel their body’s rhythms and respect the messages of the body. Simple things like going to bed a bit earlier and eating cleaner food start to translate to a deeper relationship with the inner-wisdom that is innate to everyone.”

It is a wisdom, Serge Benhayon says, that “is always felt through a whole body intelligence. We can’t ‘think our way back to soul’. We have to reacquaint ourselves with the intelligence of the body. It is through a body lovingly aligned to the mind that the wholeness of our intelligence is accessible. Without this understanding we live in a world dominated by body-divorced mental definitions of ‘intelligence’ and the health of our bodies is suffering for it.
