Relocation experts are experiencing high demand in Q1 2022

From March 2020 to March 2021, twenty six million, five hundred people moved from one home in the United States to another, which is data collected from the Census Bureau's Current Population Survey. Many relocated to the South. South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama and West Virginia were top choices. Vermont in South Dakota and Arizona were also top choices for relocations at the end of last year and early 2022.

Thirty two percent of those that chose to relocate, wanted to be closer to tier family or relocated due to a job transfer or new job opportunity. The pandemic has seen a rise in people wanting to be closer to their families, prioritizing a lifestyle shift. Many moved due to remote working opportunities, enabling them to relocate outside city limits into suburban areas. More than twenty three million Americans relocated for this reason.

Leaving high density areas seemed a leading reason for the relocation demand being experienced, thanks to the flexibility of remote working. More than four hundred technologies companies has found that over half of their employees are permanently relocating to new states.

Tech companies are more likely to enable workers to remain working from home, even once the pandemic is over. They are moving to more affordable areas, as they know they can keep their jobs and work from anywhere. The San Francisco Bay Area has approximately five hundred homes currently on the market, with one affordable listing for every three hundred homes. At the same time there is one affordable home out of one hundred and thirty four in Austin, Texas.
