This treehouse wedding, complete with swinging rope bridge, is straight out of a fairytale

It's like something out of a fairytale.

Perched high above a babbling brook, Paul and Alexandra Hunter tied the knot in a picturesque little treehouse lit with fairy lights. Raindrops splashed the leafy canopy above them as they said their vows, their daughter Indigo by their side.

"Small, romantic and personal" is how they described the vision for the elopement-style wedding. "We wanted our big day to be about us and our daughter."

During the planning stages, they knew they wanted a small wedding but had trouble finding the perfect venue.

"We knew we wanted something outdoors, preferably near or surrounded by woods or forest," said Paul. "We then came across a treehouse for rent on Airbnb.com in Atlanta, and knew it would be perfect for a getaway."

They decided to book the treehouse for two days and invite just their parents.

They kept the décor low-key, bringing just a few flowers and candles to the treehouse.

"Other than that, the treehouse was already filled with neat trinkets and already seemed perfect," said Paul. "We also loved having our daughter there with us. It was important to us for her to see us become a family."

The night before the wedding, Paul stayed in the treehouse alone, enjoying the solitude.

"I loved waking up in the treehouse the morning of our wedding," he said. "I woke up to a light rain that morning, drank a coffee and started getting ready for the big day."

The day of the wedding, "Alexandra and Paul were married under moody skies with light rain hitting the tree canopy – absolutely magical," said their photographer, Ashley Vaughn of White Rabbit Studios in Huntsville.

Alexandra said she loved getting ready for the wedding with her daughter, who got to wear a special white dress and a crown of flowers, just like Alexandra. She also carried her own tiny bouquet during the ceremony.

One of the couple's favorite moments was when Alexandra and her father walked across the swinging rope bridge with Indigo to meet Paul on the other side.

"I loved seeing my bride walk hand-in-hand with my soon-to-be daughter when they walked down the rope bridge," said Paul. "I'll never forget that image.

"It was a perfect day, a little rain, overcast for great pictures, and all smiles."

After the wedding, the new little family got to explore the treehouse and stayed the night.

Their best advice?

"Make your day about you," they said. "When you start having to please everyone, stop and think about what is most important to you."

The Hunters live in the Historic Five Points neighborhood of Huntsville, where they recently welcomed a new baby into the family.
