Factors to Consider Before Buying a Baby Stroller

If you have an infant or a toddler, strollers are the ultimate necessities. They’re extremely useful when you don’t want to leave your children at home or at a daycare when you’re traveling around.

Different types of strollers

First, let’s start with the regular baby strollers, also called the standard full-sized strollers. Full-sized standard strollers are equipped with many features like food trays, canopies, and storage baskets. They are extremely comfortable and durable, making them the most suitable type of stroller if you’re planning to go for a long trip with your little ones.

Next is the umbrella stroller. This kind of stroller is more lightweight than its full-sized counterpart and are foldable. They’re an affordable alternative to the full-sized standard stroller and can be carried and stored almost anywhere like in the trunk of a car, overhead compartments of a plane, and in a large travel bag. However, this foldable stroller doesn’t provide as much padding as the standard stroller so it should be used for slightly older babies.

Baby joggers are suitable for mothers (and fathers) who enjoy jogging or fast-walking without having to leave their children at home. Baby joggers are suitable for many terrains and have a more sophisticated suspension system to accommodate and follow the pace of your jog.

The travel system stroller is the most versatile kind out of all strollers. They usually combine the regular full-sized stroller with a baby car seat. The seat would separate from the stroller and you can attach them easily to the seat of the car. It’s suitable for parents who travel constantly with their cars and for those who don’t want to buy a stroller and a baby car seat separately.

How to pick out the perfect baby stroller
To pick the right type of strollers, you need to consider several factors including suspension, the type of tires, and of course, the weight and age of your child. The suspension comes in three categories: no suspension, front or back suspension, or all-wheel suspension. Strollers with no suspension can only handle smooth and even terrains, the suspension on the back or front wheels can handle more surfaces, and the all-wheel suspension can be taken out for off-roading.
