[EAST SHEEN, 21/06/2016] – Sheen Dental, a leading dental practice in East Sheen, London, offers an extensive range of dental implant treatments. They recommend replacing missing teeth with dental implants – the only permanent tooth replacement solution.

The practice lead is Dr Harmit Kalsi, who has worked as a dentist for more than 30 years. He heads up a team of three clinicians, with certified implant nurses assisting in implant treatment.

The team at Sheen Dental believes that teeth should always be replaced, as to do otherwise can be detrimental to oral and general health, and to mental wellbeing. Dr Kalsi and his team can permanently replace one, some, or even all of your natural teeth with the help of dental implants.

Implant solutions available from Sheen Dental include:

Single Implant + Crown

A single dental implant is placed in your jaw under local anaesthetic or sedation. A temporary crown is attached to fill the gap during the healing period. After approximately three months, when your implant has fused with your bone, a permanent new crown matched to the colour of your other teeth is attached.

Implant-Retained Bridge

Suitable for three or more missing teeth in a row, this process involves the placement of two to three implants to support a dental bridge. A temporary restoration may be fitted during healing, and at the end of the healing period your permanent bridge of natural-looking, natural-acting teeth are attached.

Solutions for all Missing Teeth

For all missing teeth in one jaw, an implant-retained bridge or implant-secured dentures can be used. As little as two implants per jaw can support a full denture. For an implant-retained bridge to replace all your teeth, between four and six implants per jaw are usually required. A bridge is a permanent fixture; implant-secured dentures can still be removed as required.

Bone Grafts and Sinus Lifts

For patients who have experienced bone loss and currently lack adequate bone density to support dental implants, an additional bone grafting procedure may be undertaken to rebuild that density to suitable levels. A sinus lift involves lifting and packing the sinus cavity with bone graft material, for upper-jaw implants.
